map of proposed east cape paved road
Does anyone have a link, or copy of the map (there had been a map online somewhere, probably a real estate site)..of the route that the new paved road
inland from the Eastcape Rd from La Ribera to San Jose...will take? It was slated for completion years ago. Lost my copy, can't find link.

If you type East Cape Road in the Nomad Search (top left of page here), you will get all posts with that phrase listed back to 2003... I looked at a
couple but didn't see the map... Have a go at it, and if it was on Nomad, and those words used in the post, then you will find it! How far from the
existing road could it be if it to serve the same territory, I wonder?

Of interest, I got an email on May 4 (2014) from a Nomad who just was on that road:
"50 miles of a road from hell today - they must have moved all the excess rocks in Baja along that section from La Ribera towards San Jose del Cabo."

My wife and I made the drive from Los Barriles to La Playita about 3 weeks ago and it wasn't really that bad. I've done the drive 4 times in the last
15 years and it was actually in the best condition from what I can remember.

I like the east cape coastal road the way it is.....so paving one inland is a much better idea......
I like it for its rusticness....but others who live there might appreciate a better road surface

For one that lives on this road, we would welcome a hard surfaced road inland from the current coast road. Would cut the traffic by 90% and those
that are in a hurry could haul burro to their hearts content!

agree totally. There is a map of the route, and I have a copy in my cabin down there, cannot find a link to it anywhere.
