Arson suspected in house burned to the ground in Punta Banda

A house belonging to an American family on the initial approach to the narrow Peninsula known as the "Spit" in Punta Banda was destroyed by fire and burned down to the ground last week. Sources from the area stated they saw the burning frames of the house go up in smoke from their window close nearby in Camp La Joya.

The source stated this was the 3rd attempt to damage the house by fire, earlier attempts were extinguished. The source stated the theory for the arson was someone not liking the owner and wanting to burn the house down for revenge or spite. The owner was not suspected however, since the house was not covered by insurance.
