Moving Truck (Tijuana to San Diego)
I'm looking to rent a truck to move my belongings from Tijuana to San Diego. I was thinking on renting one of those 17' U-Haul ones, but I've seen
online that they don't allow to bring the truck into Mexico. Are there other companies out there that will allow me to bring it to Mexico? Or how
about renting a truck in Mexico instead?
I was also wondering, with a truck that big, would I have to go through the commercial border crossing? I have never crossed through there, so I guess
some paperwork would be required?

Welcome to BajaNomad, Gus.
Seems you're opening a big can of worms for yourself. Without getting into the particulars, I can only suggest you have a local mover bring your
stuff across. There are these movers on both sides of the border and I'm sure someone will have some suggestions and recommendations.
Good luck.

I contacted someone from Craiglist, and their plan was to say we are friends and he was only "helping me out". This is rather dangerous, as I don't
know if the preload their truck with something. I don't want to risk my visa.

You may be risking a lot more than a visa. Don't take that chance.
Here's something: TJSue just went through all this stuff, and if she sees this thread, she'll be a lot of help.
In the meantime, here's her profile with all 305 of her posts, many on this issue. Just take the time to scan through them and you'll find the name
etc. of a mover which she recommends.

Thanks Dennis, I guess this will be post number 306 or 307.
I'm home after spending 10 hours standing on my feet, and I'm beat. But I'm glad I'm back in San Diego, and hoping that I get my deposit back from my
old landlord, and that was a big mess in itself.
As for moving, I used Danny Garcia (Mex/USA) movers. He owns his own trailers, moves people across the border and back, plus around Mexico and San
Diego.
He's reasonable, reliable, honest, and will tell you exactly what you will need to do. He moved me from Tijuana back to San Diego, and advertises on
Craigslist. He'll save you the hassle of doing yourself, dealing with the border crossing mess and agents. He's well worth it, and his phone number
is (619) 634-8964.
If you want more information, just let me know.
