Drum roll please....for our first Fishing Report of summer

Abalone season is finally over and Juan is now sport fishing again. Our first charter was with Nomad DanD, his wife Jen & little Bella. Within minutes of throwing out the rapala...BAM...they thought it was a big Yellowtail till they got the monster up to the boat and saw to their delight it was a 50lb white sea bass!!!!! Woooo Hoooo...and that fat sucker was insanely delicious grilled for dinner.

They had a great day on the water and also caught the season's first couple yellowtails which we served some as sashimi of course.
Then they pulled in some calicos to complete their limits.

Dan was a happy man..his personal best fish EVER!

I'll take a White Sea bass over yellowtail any day of the week. Yellowtail is over rated to eat but fun to catch.

Hola..I guess I should have said "Mongolian fire oil" made by the House of Tang..they call it Flavoring oil....Its not hot at all and is a real asset for my dishes...for the 4th I'm bbqing for about 20 folks and my veggies will be steamed in beer and "Mongolian Fire Oil" simple and great tasting ...try it ..you will love it...and for WSB like most fish should be cut thin so that you don't have to kill it twice (over cooked) just serve it before its done..it WILL finish cooking after removing from heat...just takes a little practice.....Ghost's aka WSB are my fav...nice fish dan !!! I don't think you can find it in Baja...(yet) up here in santa cruz ca I have to go to serval stores till I find it....I've learned to stock up on it as its not a big mover/seller....folks see the" FIRE" part and assume its hot.. scares them away..LOL....Ive had 100's of folks ask me what I used and everyone of them was blown away when I show them the bottle.and had them wet their finger tip and lick..ITS NOT HOT !!! good stuff !! PS....I had a nightmare last year and those eyes of yours were in it...
