Was this planned or a random encounter?
I'd like to go this fall, and wondering about best places, most likely to see sharks, where pangas are available for charter.
Suggestions and recommendations appreciated!

I just returned from a 17-day Baja surfing/diving/fishing camping trip with my two sons, ages 20 and 22. As good as any trip I've had down there,
made more precious being with my boys.

Brian, wonderful shots, great vid... and to think that's just a youngster! There's a whale shark internet site I ran into that you can actually
adopt that particular shark for study; their 'spots' markings from about 9" in front of the dorsal to 9" behind it (might be a little more or less)
are 'fingerprints' of each individual, and are different. You can stop-frame your flick, and send 'em the stills for registry. I have prolly 6
different juveniles I've wanted to register, and plan to right after I finish filling out my application to 'Procrastinators of America' sometime in
the near future.
Whale-ista, my suggestion is, plan on late Sept. thru all of Oct. in shallow, warm bays (i'm only familiar with east side from Concepcion north) or
come down in mid-late April and stay through May. Find out what local channels are used on the VHF, and listen in, both radio and bars. Gonzaga,
Bahia L.A., Concepcion, San Lucas/ San Bruno, all are good bets. You need warm water and a little patience, but talk about a rush! Amazing
creatures, especially if they are 'skimming' on the surface with that gaping maw open. I'll post a pic or two......... one of these days....... just
as soon as.. well...
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

To Whale- ista We where keeping an eye out for the whale sharks while diving and fishing , having seen them many times that time of year. Luckily
we found two on the first day . The video is of two sharks found in the same bay. But we did not see any more for the rest of the trip. Going just to
look for whale sharks is a crap shoot good luck
