Writing home ...

I'm going to be in Cabo for a short time before boarding a SCUBA boat but want to send some Post Cards to friends.

What is the postage cost to send a Post Card to USA and
is the Post Office the only place to buy them?

Thank you

synch, we sent a bunch of tarjetas de postal to the States last month, and purchased the stamps from local post offices (although I imagine innkeepers, etc. might have some on hand). I think the cost was 850 centavos for each stamp, or around $0.75 USD at the time. It was fun tracking the transit time, too, with one Florida-bound card taking a litle over a month to arrive.

I normally find someone heading back to the States and have them drop in the mail for me. Otherwise, the cards will arrive, if they do, after you get home.

Have a great time!

Real (norte de la frontera) time

Hardly a scientific experiment, but three of the roughly two dozen we posted from BCS took >1 month, and the transit time seemed independent of where we posted them (Mulege, Loreto, TS) - go figure?

A month is fine, as I just want them cancelled in BCS!

Others more knowledgeable in this area may correct me, but I have been told that all mail in Mexico goes through Mexico City prior to being delivered. That would certainly account for at least part of the delay.
