Ebola and the border

I know this is a little early, but there was a person diagnosed with Ebola in Texas today.

Lets say that you have plans to visit Baja or other parts of Mexico in the near future.

Worst case scenario (many more people infected in US), do you think that things could change quickly at the border making returning to the US or going to Mexico more difficult?

Example: Health checks for people going to or returning from Mex - this could cause long waits.

No. They won't isolate everybody with a runny nose. We are coming into flu season as well.
Don't lose any sleep over what you can't control.

well if we get to the point of land border checks, that will be least of our worries. after many thousands die,... will be chaos and pandemonium everywhere as survivors (survivalists) all hunker down waiting for the contagion to blow over. i recommend you all go to walmart and stock up on 6 month supply of ammunition, pop tarts, peanut butter, spam, water and whiskey, and stock up your basement shelter for Armageddonish period of sheltering in place. for survival tips i recommend you watch Walking Dead.

The CDC has issued a statement. In it they state that they have already given instruction to the CBP, quoted below.

"Providing guidance for flight crews, Emergency Medical Services units at airports, and Customs and Border Protection officers about reporting ill travelers to CDC"

How these instructions change border crossings are yet to be determined.

we came back north during the swine flu outbreak a bunch of years ago. on the way north we noticed MANY people wearing dust masks along the way, especially in SanQ and Ens. by the time we got real world radio reception and got snippets of info we were worried. at TKT they pulled us into secondary and gave us the 3rd degree. "why do you want to go to Mex?" "Do you know we are ready to close the border?" "Stand over there while WE search your truck"

Wow! What on earth does ONE case of Ebola with a person who just returned from west Africa have to do with Mexico???

look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1918_flu_pandemic and realize only 20% of those people died.

ebola is killing 50%.
