Bajabound Auto Insurance Reviews?
OK, I just purchased insurance for my vehicle from the Bajabound banner at the top of this page. Is there anyone reading this who can give me a review
on this company? I purchased the cheapest 6 months offered plan: HDI Seguros Standard Policy.
Would like to here from someone who actually got in a crash.
Thank You, 4th year driving in Mexico 4th time I've switched plans.

Always use Bajabound, have an annual policy. Rolled my Toyota Tacoma on Blvd 2000. Called the contact number, adjuster who spoke english was there in
30 minutes, took care of everything.
Contacted Geoff at Bajabound the next morning, said he would get right on it.
Had a choice of Mexico or US repairs, Autocar in Ensenada did the work using all Toyota parts (I know because I was at the shop 2 - 3 times a week)
Geoff was in contact with me and so was the adjustor during the whole process. Truck repaird like new.
Geoff and HDI adjustor continued follow up after repairs and addressed every concern
Extremely satisfied with Bajabound (Geoff) and HDI........would not think of switching insurance and HIGHLY recommend Bajabound/Geoff & HDI

I can't testify because haven't had to claim anything but I switched to them couple months ago because of the good reports I've read on BN. I bought
a policy from them online but paid for 2 policies by mistake. I emailed them and they cleared it up and I had a refund for 1 on my Visa the next day.
I'm curious; An annual policy is only a few dollars more than a 6 month policy, por que you didn't get the full year?

No crashes but they've been great to work with as I keep changing trucks and towables around. If I was in charge of BB I'd dump myself for being a
pain in the burro.

What's in the cheapest plan?
If you get in a crash, I expect the cheapest plan covers your liability and nothing else, eh?

I have Baja Bound Insurance and many of my clients do as well and I've been involved in assisting several people involved in accidents. BajaBound
provided great coverage and wonderful customer service during those incidents.
Geoff provides personal customer service to all customers and is very responsive.
Their coverage is top notch and the repairs and payments were made very quickly.
5 outta 5 stars recommendation

When I was younger, I drove all over Mexico with no insurance because I was poor. I dodged many bullets.
Now that I'm older, I always use BajaBound and I've been really happy. Was rear ended by a Jersey leche truck in TJ years ago. I had to chase thru
TJ to get the guy to stop.
BajaBound was quick and helpful. I ended up not filing a claim because there was very little damage.

Thank You,
Cheapest plan 180 days appeared to be roughly $100 USD less than the full-year (at $233.84). There is a very slight chance I will drive in Mexico in
Nov/Dec '15 but normally I cross into Mexico January 1st.
My main reason for the question has been answered. I.E. "How quickly and smoothly will the adjuster show up at my crash?" I was involved in a crash
in Guadalajara last December (with a different insurance carrier). The police had me cornered with lots of threats of a night in jail or at least
sitting at city hall for 20+ hours. Ten minutes after my adjuster showed up it was All Bueno, and I was on my way. He smoothly argue my POV, and I was
free of legal issues.
Liabilities are my main concern. My 2005 Pontiac was repaired in Manzanillo at about %10 of what the cost would have been NOB. Quality workmanship,
and a perfect paint job.
Thank You

Silly question.... "Geoff"? Is he who picks up if I call the 1-800 crash line? Is this good service also the case on the mainland of Mexico (where
I'll spend most my driving days)?

1-800 number is answered by phone reps, as anywhere in the world. They do speak English, though sometimes with heavy accent, but their only function
is to send you an adjuster. (And a medic if necessary). For this, their English is enough. There is no need to call the US-based manager Geoff, and I
don't think you will have his number on the policy (I didn't). Occasionally there could be complicated issues that you need to discuss with somebody
who has a really good English and more authority than phone reps. Or a client needs reassurance. People are in shock and need to talk to somebody
who understands them better - including American mentality...
I don't know how well this works on the mainland. My understanding is that if Seguro or whatever provider you purchased, covers the mainland, then
they will pay. Up front or reimbursing later, but they will pay. I guess how soon adjuster will come, depends on the area and time of the day and if
there is a major holiday at that time. Any accident results in a loss of time, costs (hotel, cabs, meals etc etc), and immeasurable emotional damage.
Drive safe.

I totaled my boat about 4 years ago on my way to La Paz. HDI was an awesome company to work with and had my whole claim resolved in under 2 months.
Actually HDI had resolved my claim in under 30 days but because I wanted to receive payment in the States they had to go through a US company to send
my money. Those guys are who held things up for the next 30 days. At least you went through a travel club. I personally use Discover Baja for my
insurance needs which is to say that I am sure Baja Bound is equally good. I was extremely pleased I had purchased through a travel club. They
definitely carry a lot of weight. It was nice having them in my corner. Any time I wasn't getting a response to a query a simple cc: to Discover
Baja and I had a response within 24 hrs.
Now my question to you is why are you asking "AFTER" you purchased a policy?

Both Discover Baja and Baja Bound sell HDI. Top notch service is why. Geoff is a member of Nomad... and Baja Bound sponsors this site... 'nuff said!

Both Discover Baja and Bajabound are brokers for same 2 or 3 Mex insurance companies, HDI and some other, forgot the names. You have to go through
some broker anyway, be it a travel club or whatever. The issues like who sponsors this site, or who is a member of Nomads, are not quite relevant to
quality of service, IMO. This is just a marketing and PR. Yeah, asking questions after purchasing the insurance is interesting ...

My review? They are good people and provide a good service. All of my vehicles today are Baja plates using local insurance but I recommend ALL of my
friends and family coming down to use Baja Bound. Never heard a single complaint over all these years...

The show-up time of an insurance adjuster is one of the primary features of any company I would give even 3 stars to. When I had this crash on the
busiest boulevard in Guadalajara, on arguably the busiest evening of the entire year (Friday night Christmas shoppers Dec 18) the state of mind while
we all waited for him was hell. He took 35 minutes to arrive, meanwhile the police are bothering my with extremely rapid Spanish. Wife is a nervous
wreck, and me. No one hurt thankfully, swerved into a super fast racing courier service motorcycle... after double checking that I had an empty lane
to move to. For just a second or two I was certain I had killed him. Bad night.
After the ins. adjuster arrives... 10 minutes of chatter, and I'm free to leave.
