Ensenada truck route
As you are coming from Tecate and entering Ensenada on Hwy 3 at the end of the four lane on the left there is a new highway going up over the mountain
that I was told is to be a truck bypass around Ensenada..
Is that fact or fiction and if fact does anyone know the particulars....
How far along is it?? where does it catch Hwy 1 on the south??????
It looked pretty far along last winter when we went by...
That would save bunches of time to get around town...

Fact, not fiction
It's about to Ave Ruiz in Ensenada, nowhere near complete.
Closed to all traffic at this time
"Supposed" to rejoin Hwy 1 near Canyon Buena Vista, south of Manedearo

"They" never said when it would be completed.....
By the time the road gets to Manedearo, the part they completed will have to be rebuilt. Already visible erosion damage to embankments just south of
Hwy 3

Will this be open to all traffic or just trucks?

I don't know.
If I remember correctly the original plans called for only 4 exits/entrances to the truck route. Ruiz, Delante/Diamonte, someplace near COSTCO and
someplace near Manedearo
bajadoc posted a map here:

It would be nice to be able to bypass downtown Ensenada.

I'm still wondering if it will be a toll road. Probably should be.

Never been to Anthony's so don't miss it... would love to miss all the mess getting thru town tho...
Guess at my age I will never have the chance to try it.... The other one would be great if they did the same thing at San Quintin....
But thats just asking way too much.... and yes I am spoiled .....

No matter how much this route might save in time, we have always enjoyed driving through Ensenada, simply because we have been going there and staying
there since 1972. Call it nostalgia, if you will.
Even when our ultimate destination is Cabo, I enjoy driving through downtown Ensenada.

Maneadero is a different story.
6 stop signs, where hardly anyone stops. Most of the locals take the dirt side road and just drive on without stopping.

Plenty to see and do in Manedearo. You should park the car and walk around and explore.

All vehicles some day. Cars have made on-ramps onto it (hahaha) and go from 3 to the reservoir. It's a real time saver for that part of the city. I
have had the pleasure of using it.
