GOT ROOM AND HEADED NORTH? SOUTH?

A bajanomader has left a HUGE donation of food, diapers, laundry soap and much much more for the ancianos at the old mens home DianaT brought to our attention. He tried to find it and realized too late that he was too far south.

I also have some dish towels, bath towels, empty containers for food storage and kitchen utensils to donate.

Anyone headed north and can take this to them? We will be going in December but it seems a shame to let this sit here in the garage for that long!

---------------------------------------

Hot off the presses, got a walker, crutches and blankets that need a ride south from San Diego! call 619 306-2050 if you can bring them. Ask for Eva (my mom)

Can anyone help?

Gracias.

Blanca, it sounds like a wonderful donation. I hope someone will be able to deliver all the good stuff!

If you don't mind, I will post this a couple of other places? I hope we find a ride.

This is where it needs to go ---

http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=74953#pid9377...

Directions are on page two and it is only a few minutes off the highway and I can put you in contact with our friend Penny who will meet you. In fact, if you want her to meed you on the highway, she and Murray will do that!

I will say, however, that visiting the home is so worth it as others have said.

http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=76067#pid9442...

Thank you, Thank you and I think I know who the donor is, and THANK YOU.

And this is another bump!

Anyone going north?

Thanks Blanca-- it would be nice if it got there sooner, but if no one is headed that way, they will be thrilled to see you!

Donation still needs a ride, and meantime,

Fernweh, (Karl), you are definitely a guardian angel! Thank you Again.

We still have not found the anonymous donor, but that is okay.

Consumables are just that, consumable and there will be a continued need for same.

And because I just think Howard said it best, I have again quoted him.

I was on my way south and it just took less than 15 minutes and next to nothing cost to really make a difference. Most of us Nomads have more years behind us than ahead of us and they don't have the same opportunities as us to live the vida loca in our golden years. Give them a smile!

It was a meager amount compared to the Costco delivery by someone but it made ME feel good. There were smiles and love all the way around. For you people that are heading down why don't you think about buying something, anything and dropping it off and you will have the same kind of internal smile as I did.

It is all needed and appreciated

If anyone is passing through San Juanico heading towards the old folks home, we have a large bag of food storage containers and will add other stuff as room permits.

i just realized that every trip we end up with a bag or two of vegies and other stuff that we didn't use and give it to someone in camp or a worker or whatever. instead, we're going to start dropping it off for the old guys on our way north. toss in a slab of jurel and they'll be stoked!

good idea there Woody!

Now we need a ride for goods going the opposite way as well - I had my mom buy a walker, crutches and a special toilet chair, plus some blankets as the nights are definitely getting colder now. anyone headed south?

Since you have been there, you know that it only takes a few minutes, and that is a WONDERFUL idea and they will be so happy. I hope some others will maybe think about doing the same sort of thing --- it all HELPS. :saint::saint:

I missed your post! GREAT

So rides for donations are needed from San Juanico and La Bocana going north, and one from San Diego going south.:yes::yes:
