Fishing licenses for Mexicans???? Photo with his fish!

We have a local guy who wants to go fishing with us - Mexican.

I have never seen a Mexican have a fishing license here - or when checked out on the fishing ground - produce one. Only ours - are checked.

Any opinions?
Should I get a license for him?

Okay, here is the stuff straight from PESCA. Anyone sport fishing, whether Mexican or Norteamericano, needs a Sportfishing license from PESCA. When we have a tournament in our area, the local PESCA guy writes down the license and all the info for each entrant. No License, no enter. In our area, unless they are fishing under the cooperative, who carries the licenses for it's members, they are not allowed to commercial fish either. But in either case, it takes a license. A person who operates under a commercial coop, is not allowed to go fishing with you without a sport fishing license.

My husband is a member of the cooperativa here and legally works under their collective umbrella.

He also has a sportsfishing license just in case he were to go out with friends.

Yep, your friend needs to provide himself a license and bring it with him when he goes fishing.

Must have been a few yrs. back, I believe out of San Carlos
mainland, a post with printed Pesca info, stated under
16, as I remember, does not need a license. This contradicts
info I've always read

Also you don't need a MX license anywhere in Baja to fish from the beach.
