Beautiful birds! Great photo reminders of lovely Baja. Thank you both for posting.

Perfect little hovercraft, your oystercatcher.
You sure do take some crackin' bird pix, Big Oly!

Truly beautiful and extremely sharp photos, Big Oly. You're an inspiration to anyone who owns a camera.
I remember quite well the first oystercatcher I ever saw and photographed.
It’s 1973…I’m on an island in Conception Bay. I’ve heard a weird and loud ‘Peep-Peep-Peep’-ing sound and then spotted..an
oystercatcher! Aha…I'll get a photo.
Quickly, I take my trusty 35 mm Pentax out of it’s case. Here we go… Lovely bird…Please just hold still for a moment?
Okay, now to get the shot…but wait, first I need to…
1. Set the shutter speed dial
2. Set the aperture
3. Set the ISO speed
4. Set the ‘mode’ dial
5. Set the exposure
6. Focus…where the hell is that bird?
7. Frame your subject….and Shoot!
8. Develop rolls of film a few weeks later in San Diego.
Check photos.
Well fooey, it could be a bird…or a musk ox.
I might have been thinking this: "Hmmm….wonder how long until digital cameras with auto focus are invented?"
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.
