car rental from Los Cabos in January

The good news is that I'm surprising my wife with a 4-day trip to Baja in January (we're already booked for a week in March). The bad news is that we've only used Dominic's in the past, but they've been booked solid for months now. They've always provided a worry-free experience, and now I'm shopping for other agencies. Does anyone have any recommendations? We'll be renting out of the Los Cabos airport and driving up to Todos Santos.

Avis has been good to me many times.

I've used both Avis and National from the airport and both were good.

I do get the insurance. In the US my AAA insurance covers me so I skip it there. But, not in Mexico.

PaulDavid. Lots of people rec Antonio at Cactus Rentals. He will email you a quote with the minimum insurance in the quote and that is what you will pay at the counter. Their office is a 1 min ride from terminal. They pick you up. I'm renting again from them in Jan and just rented with them in Nov. Our Jetta looked like it had been in the Baja 1000 when we returned it. Surf wax all over the top. about an inch of sand in the trunk. I think a hermit crab or two. They didn't even blink. No problema.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations! Based on feedback and reviews both here and on TripAdvisor, I contacted Cactus yesterday afternoon and heard back within the hour. They seemed to have plenty of cars and a reputation for quoting the price you'll actually end up paying. What a concept! With that detail wrapped up, I'm looking forward to our trip in just a little more than a month!
