El Capitan is OK. Good showers. About $45 USD. Parking in courtyard. Has a pool.

I usually stay at the El Capitan too. Close to most everything.

Kiki's was good,,, clean room, pet friendly and in the $40 range.
we were there in March last time... biggest drawback you have to go
out to eat...
It's east of the round about probably a mile...

When we were building our house in SF, we always staid at El Cortez.

It is on the beach and they have a great bar and restaurant as well.

About two years ago El Cortez was not OK with a pet, El Capitan was OK with it.

We used to only stay at El Cortez. But last time I was there and went to stay, the prices had gone up considerably.

So, then I found El Caribe. It is on the west side of the street across from Costa Azul near the malecon. $40-$60 rooms in my experience. Great location, walking distance to the restaurants on the malecon.

Good luck!

just a heads up on the Cortez,a month ago a dozen gals from the rosarito area stayed at the Cortez and all had their laptops, iphones, cash, lifted from the rooms. someone somehow had a master key and just let themselves in.
don't leave anything of value in the room!;)

Anybody down in San Felipe that can check what's up with the Cortez phone? I've been trying them since the 23rd with no answers on either line.
