Merry Christmas from DISH ?

For us, was a postcard noting that "one or more" of our current receivers would no longer be supported after 15 March 15 and advising a call to Tech Support for further information.

Having a number of older receivers, I wasn't surprised that "some" might have to be replaced, notably the (2) 3900 units, BUT talking to tech support, they advised that they would need to replace ALL FIVE, including the 301 and the two DVR Receivers (508 and 512) with newer HD receivers.

Can it be possible that they are eliminating ALL SD receivers and service ? Looking around, I still see a lot more SD antennas than I do HD.

So far, I haven't seen any independent information on the move and suppose that it's simply going to have to get closer to the big day in March. I'm considering buying one of the newer dual-capability (SD/HD) units listed simply to have an emergency fallback if the worst is to come.
