Museum at Estero Beach Hotel

Looking at Pompano's post with the shots of a museum, reminded me of the above museum.
Is it still open?

It was last summer. FYI, there is an excellent RV park at the hotel.

Glad to hear that. I thought it was really interesting.
Never stayed in the rv park but many times in a room.
Is the food in the restaurant still good?

Off thread on my own thread.....has anyone heard from Sally South?

Yo Sally check in!

bajajudy,

The food is good/excellent. It is pricey. The Sunday bunch is well worth the price. The patio overlooks the ocean. The service is standard Baja. Order a drink and relax. Hope to see you there. The rooms that open to the sea or great.

Some of the staff and a chef from there relocated to Sharky's in Cantu, Punta Banda a year ago. Same great food at about half the price (Especially the Sushi and Sashimi on Wed. nights). Of course you don't get that view.

I used to camp here with my family, circa mid-60s. It was a long way out of Ensenada and there was a campground with rental horses - a beach, sand, estuary, nothing more. Around 1990, I attended several BFG race parties at the resort - BFG was just as good throwing parties and they are racing. Now it's all just part of the Ensenada metroplex.

Judy - my last conversation with Sally was Oct 2012 .. at the time of Juanita's memorial .. seems a lifetime ago.

Sorry I don't have a clue about Estero ..

All best wishes, Lori

Seriously; Sharky's? In years past, I thought their food was meh. More of a bar than a restaurant. Does Dennis still hang there?

I visited the museum 2 years ago (X-mas 2012). I would assume it's still there. I highly recommend checking it out.
