Road Runner
Just passed thru this afternoon
Never noticed the orange patch behind the eye before.
Thought I'd toss this guy in too because he's in full color. Not often I see them so red.

Back in the 70's, we lived in Saugus, CA, which has since become a part of The City of Santa Clarita. The area was mostly rural. We often saw these
wonderful critters running about through yard. Unfortunately, the development of that area virtually eliminated them from the area.
Progress???

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
Lots of house finches in my yard since I put out food to attract them. I agree- this one is especially red.
Used to see roadrunners near my house in San Miguel- might still be a few around.
Last one I saw was investigating the pool area at Trinidad RV park in La Ribera- they are impressive critters.

Nice pictures, especially the Roadrunner. Probably on rattlesnake snack patrol clearing your rattlers for you.
