Hiway 5 Wednesday

Drove from SF to Hiway 1 on Wed...Bad part was 26 miles, took me two hours on the dot....not any worse than many Baja roads in my opinion, BUT I would NOT pull any kind of trailer over it, or haul a big camper....My opinion....Its a LONG drive from San Felipe to GN, took me 7 1/2 hours.....No, I did not see any markers from Cocos, which was deserted, but I wasn't looking, cuz it doesnt make any difference to me.....LOTSA big trucks on hiway 5 as well.....

Thanks for your report.
Bad part 26 miles... does that mean unpaved part? I will assume yes.
So, that would mean paving ends 9-10 miles from Gonzaga Pemex per your odometer... or 12-13 miles north of Coco's Corner (which is 13 miles from Hwy. 1).

There will always be road improvements and more paving (sadly) to report on. Just in case you didn't know, I also post other Baja details here too. ; )

Air down to ~22 PSI for the dirt. It makes a huge difference. Air back up for pavement to save your tires. There is air at 5 and 1 if you don't have a compressor.

Air at Hwy 1 (Chapala)

Coming off the long dirt stretch there is a llantera right where you exit.
Nice guys, quick and easy air-up
Check the side panel on the outhouse out back
It is a 4x8 political sign from a long ago Calif Lt. Gov. race.
Pretty cool
