I've stayed at the El Cortez many times. Their online reservations are wonky - they don't always work even though they appear to. Also, they only take
cash.

True. It's decent. Anyone looking for a room should really call or email for a reservation. Many will be there this week end.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

I have also stayed at the Cortez many times...nice rooms...good showers. But I always soured on the attitude there that they are doing me a favor as
to taking my money. I like Don Jesus up the street a bit but not sure as to the pups.

Cortez will try and put you in a small room even if the larger rooms are empty unless you pointedly request a better room. Not sure about pets.
Very good point above about getting reservations for this weekend. I checked and I believe "Santa Semana" starts April 30 this year. We were in San
Felipe during this period several years ago and half the population of Mexicali was in town, drunken partiers and loud music and fireworks and no
rooms available, anywhere. We ended up driving to Ensenada. Maybe not the best time for the doggies unless they like explosions..

Are all these hotels pet friendly? OP is asking specifically about hotels that will take a dog.

Sorry I meant Semana Santa begins Mar. 30, not April.
I always get the decimal wrong!

Kiki's is a great place....on the beach (new section just across the road).
Well kept, clean, friendly, secure....and Kiki is a great host....
