There are to ways to go

you can turn right after crossing the border and take the first left at the round about. This will take you through a busy part of town. Eventually you will see the Kenworth production plant turn left and you are on your way

However, the shorter faster easier way is to:

Turn left after crossing the border

Turn right at the main intersection on the corner where the BCN statue is located

Turn left at the corner that is just past the Toyota Dealership and an Autozone store, there is a Pharmacy on the corner

Stay on this road you will pass a Coke plant and the LG plant

you will be going through the industrial area of Mexicali

Eventually you will see Hwy 5 and a sign to San Felipe

Turn left and you are on your way

One of these days I will mark up a google map and post it

Not well signed, is somewhat confusing but not bad. Turn by turn instructions have been posted here and on the San Felipe webite, do a search. I printed those out the first time I used the route and had no problem.

This is how I go and you can see these roads on Google maps
Turn right when you come out of the border on blvd abelardo Rodriquez go about 1.5 miles
Turn left at the traffic circle with a tee pee in the middle ( also a sign san Felipe) Czda Manuel Gomez Morin go about 7 miles
Turn left after rail road tracks. You are on hwy 5
Not sure about the miles but easy

nuvena/rodriquez comes up east of the crossing.

your thinking of the "old way" to get to the east crossing
thats the way I use to go
