Bulevar Rio Nuevo bypass to San Felipe?

Has anyone taken Bulevar Rio Nuevo out of the Calexico crossing a an alternative route through Mexicali towards San Felipe? You have to do a quick jog down a side street to your right after you get the green light, Calle Agustin Melgar then left on Avenida Reforma then left on Bulevar Rio Nuevo.

Take a left at Calz Hector Teran Teran (no, not Duran Duran) which joins back up with 5 just past the Costco.

It looks like a nice 4 lane (two each direction) bypass though the suburbs, at least on Google Satellite it does!

Is it a viable bypass to 5 right out of Calexico....shorter....faster drive....less traffic...etc.

I like the bypass because there is less traffic. I think timing wise, most of the time it is faster. Depending on the lights. You do have to watch out for the signage because they have not taken down any of the old signs to San Felipe.
Once you cross the border if you are in a far right lane you can just take calle Zorilla to the right, turn right on Reforma go over the bridge and turn Lt. Onto the Nuevo Rio road. If you miss that you would take Melgar, then turn right on Reforma and cross the bridge then Lt. onto Nuevo rio.
