Status of El Hotelito at Punta Chivato?
Just wondering if the hotel will be continuing on, after May 1, or whether it is a temporary closure that is normal for this time of year. The manager
told me it would close on May 1 but I wasn't sure if he was talking permanently. So, I asked him and have not gotten a reply.
Do they simply close between May 1 and the Bulls Only Tournament?
Any info on the status of the hotel would be appreciated.

The manager, Victor, announced yesterday that it would not close as scheduled but be open for another 20 days. That is all I've heard but I don't go
there so there maybe other changes. Sorry I haven't contact info.

Victor needs surgery and was planning on closing last Sunday, but when he went to the doctor, they postponed the surgery so he is planning on being
open till the 21st of May. We play music there on Friday nights but it has started to slow down as people go north.

Is Ken no longer working at the hotel? I havent been there in approaching two years.
Any idea how long the hotel might remain closed after May 21?

Ken is out, Victor is in. Because of the high cost of diesel, it is just not economical for them to keep it open when most of the residents go north.
So, in answer to your question, the hotel and restaurant will probably be closed until Fall. The customer base comes mostly from Punta Chivato and
the hotel was pretty slow this year. Victor used to work at the big hotel when Alvarado was there and has lots of experience and is well liked.

OK, thanks, Jim.
What other alternatives are there, for hotels within walking distance of the anchorage by the launch ramp? Is the old hotel in operation? Did the
Italian ever get it back?
I'm fine with sleeping on the boat, but when the wives come..............no way Jose. My boat's only 25 feet, no genny or AC, of course.
New boat or new wife..............no inexpensive options. A hotel room is cheaper.
Was hoping to make the tournament this year.

That's a good idea, B and S. Wonder if anyone would allow that for only 3-4 days. only one way to find out.
