I am going to assume you mean ride it through the sentry lane. When you get a sentri pass you have the opportunity to register a vehicle, and if you registered your quad as your vehicle then I would say that CBP is OK with it. Have you gotten your sentri pass and had a vehicle inspected and approved for the sentry program?

I have driven across with my quad in the back and no problem. I was warned when I got the sentri pass that if I had too much stuff in the back of the truck then I maybe should think about using the ready lane. So I have a few times. This is the "trusted traveler" program but we have to make it really easy for them to trust us.

I was recently told that:

At Mexicali downtown a quad is no problem. In fact, the agent advised anything that is non commercial is ok in Sentri.

At San Luis, the agent advised that quads are NOT allowed in Sentri lane. Agent further clarified that Sentri is governed locally at each individual port at the discretion of each port director.

This information came after being sternly warned at San Luis Sentri lane for having "too much stuff" after having been camping. My next camping trip, I returned north through the downtown Mexicali regular (non Sentri) lane. Upon greeting the border guard, he asked why I have Sentri and didn't use it. I explained that I had been told at San Luis I had "too much stuff" on a previous trip. He said that is ridiculous and that I should use Sentri.

The agent in Mexicali was very friendly and cordial and advised quads were ok as was just about anything non commercial that I could fit in the truck.

My next trip thru San Luis is when I inquired about the different rules at the different ports.

In any event, I cross a couple of times a week and have had many different opinions from different agents.

Hope this helps- Your quad can SOMETIMES be crossed in Sentri

Yes, but you will be sent to secondary to verify VIN numbers, so make sure you bring a copy of the registration and title.
