Yes, and photos taken later, in the 60's and 70's show many planes up in front of the rooms (more than Jeeps and trucks)... since the runway ended at
Casa Diaz until it was finally closed in the 80's, with the paved road from Hwy. 1 and too many people at risk.

I remember that runway. It was right between what is now the Villa Vitta campground and the road. From what I heard years ago, a kid was killed riding
a 3 wheeler who was struck by a plane. After that they closed that particular air strip. And I do remember when the highway into town was dirt.
