Fishing licenses

Has anyone had any luck getting their annual fishing license online? I have had no luck using the licensing website I have used in the past.

I'm not sure this really answers your question but I do get mine on line from Vagabundos Del Mar. You do need to be a member, $35 I think.

I tried using that site "bajasportfishing.com" last week and within an hour somebody was using my cc to buy something in new foundland. Glad for fraud alert. But sucks to now have to get a new card. Use at your own risk. By the way. It was the only place I had used that card in a month.

Getting there is ALL the fun!

Fishing licenses

Thanks Mick for the "heads up", I was about to try that web site. I am a member of Vagabundos so I will use them for my license needs.

Here we go again. If you are fishing in a particular area like Baja Sur or Baja norte It is important to buy the license in the area you are going to fish. If you are fishing from El Rosario north, then buying you license from Vagabundos or Squidco, the money will stay in the Baja area,(Ensenada and Tijuana) If you are fishing Baja sure from Asuncion down, please try to support that area. If you buy from the site www. bajasursportfishing.com they are in La Paz and the money is used for enforcement, tournaments, habitat improvement, etc., for Baja Sur.
Everyone complains about the lack of enforcement but you can do a little to help by supporting the state where you fish. In addition, we have worked with PESCA and made them aware of what we need to do to get more licenses out there and available for visiting fishermen. Shari in Asuncion usually has licenses, Rigo in San Bruno always has licenses, I know of two or three places in Loreto as well.

Pescador, I was unaware of that $ stays local, I figured it was
a Federal dept., where $ was allocated out. So P Vallarta $
would stay there, Zihua $ there, etc. I would have to think
a while as what in the no. state of the Baja peninsula does fall
under the guidence of the Dept of Pesca. But having just made aware of that, if I were driving down to BCS, with fishing gear, I would personally
procure a Mex fish license before I crossed into Mex

That is fine if you choose to do that, but be aware that the money goes to Baja California, namely Ensenada and Tijuana and does nothing for Baja California Sur. It is a goofy system, but the enforcement division of PESCA which is a division of Fonmar is a separate entity, hence that is why we are always trying to get the word out. I write for Western Outdoor News and have covered this issue in depth, which is about all we can do.
