No Name Road from Ej. Valle La Trinidad to Mex1 just south of San Vincente
Hi all! My first post!
We are planning a trip to Baja in Jan 16.
We intend to cross the border at San Luis Rio Colorado and make our way to Mike's Sky Ranch the first night.
After leaving Mike's, we plan to head west on Mex3 to Ej. Valle La Trinidad.
Looking at the 2009 Baja Almanac, I see a red and white dashed road heading west, southwest to Mex1. I know this is labeled as a "Graded Gravel Dirt
Road".
My question: has anyone traveled this road lately and provide a ride report? I own a Ford F-250 Crew Cab (156" wheel base) with a FWC Popup camper;
a heavy rig. As such I have to be extra careful where I venture with this rig. Turning (turn around) radius is poor. I have recovery equipment,
but, recovery is a subjective term with a 10,000# rig.
If there is a better option driving over to Mex1 from Mike's I'm certainly open to suggestions. I would prefer not driving Mex3 all the way to
Ensenada/Mex1 unless it is simply necessary.
Thanks for any info!
This is a great forum full of info. I've gleamed a lot of info and have sticky notes stuck on the pages of my Almanac.

This is a main, graded dirt road. Sometimes called the wine road as it goes through a growing region where it intersects with hwy 1.
You should be fine in your truck. No issues in a dodge 2500 CC 4x4, long bed. Parts may be a bit rough where it goes over the mountains but fine in
a 2wd PU or even a car. Just be aware of is the berms built up by the race trucks if the road has been used for a recent event.

It is used about every year for the Baja 500 race, and is quite well used as a big distance savings. It was been many years since I drove it in my
Tacoma, but then it was a maintained graded road... with at least one steep grade that will have you using low gear or 4WD perhaps to make the climb
easy.
Where it meets Hwy. 1 south of San Vicente, there is a grape selling vendor who may be set up... good stuff!
That road vs driving out from Mike's to Hwy. 1 on the paved observatory road (4WD only for the first few miles south from Mike's.).

I ride my dirt bike there weekly, the washboard.Close to San Vicente side. You will be at 1mph,I would air down. Then at San Vicente refill. Its easy road
no 4x4 needed. Also be very careful on the blind corners.Day time lights on,every blind corner hook that horn.
