Crossing with pressure tank and pump
We are returning to Baja with our pressure tank we took home(to California) last spring to fix. We also took our cistern pump. WE are now ready to
take them back. They are (and look) very used. Is this going to be a problem going across the border? WE use Calexico East to cross. Thanks
Nancy

I agree with weebray, but last year I was taking a large obviously used drill press south across the border and I was turned around at San Ysidro and
told to go to Otay mesa crossing. I had to pay duty on it before I was allowed to cross. So if it looks expensive you may have to pay something. Good
luck with it.

Who knows, they are gonna do what ever they do. Most likely they won't care about it - I mean the tank and pump - and just let you go on through.
Worst case they charge you some duty. No big deal.

Pump repairs, like speaker repairs, small appliance repairs etc. etc. etc. are in huge demand here in Mexico. There are small repair shops for just
about anything you have, everywhere. La Paz has any number of shops that deal with pump problems. Just ask someone. This forum is handy for that.

I just bought this morning a half hp water pressure pump with regulator for 515 pesos this morning at El Arco. That's about thirty bucks. Hard to
repair one much cheaper.

home depot has a petty good tank and 5amp pump now
"they" told me I needed a bigger pressure tank when I first bought mine but you don't
the motor is going to start anyway...you just need a tank to balance the pressure
the metal impeller casing is better than the more expensive plastic ones because of the change in temps
they expand in the heat then leak when it gets cold
the blue pressure tanks have a rubber bladder in them and are lasting about 5 years then they disintegrate and black stuff comes out in the
lines...the pump will just go on and off...not good with battery power

Last time i took my computer north to do some work I made up a phony receipt for computer repair under warantee (zero cost) and presented that at the
south bound border when I got the red light. No problema.
