Resort @ San Francisquito
Any Nomads out there that have recently visited the resort at San Fransisquito? Want to know if its still in business and are/if so, the proprierors
freindly/accomodating... Could be going in around Nov 11, roads allowing. Used to go alot in the 90's at its most freindly when Pepe ran the place. I
am aware that there's been a lot of ups and downs thru the last decade. Gracias

Hombre...I am surprised there has been no feedback, and I also would like to know what repairs (if any) have been done since I was there last October.
Odille had just torn the place up.
I will chime in if nothing else is posted, but it is old info. Maybe you could edit the title to highlight 'San Fransisquito'. SFO is an airport in
California.

Went out there in July/Aug. The road was fine but SF is still trashed.

I have been there recently and we camped on the beach .... you need to be fully self supported but they have beer .. no fuel ... only food is fresh
fish and quesadillas ... the earthquakes and hurricanes have beat up the place ... camping on the beach is still amazing.

Good and thank you Desertbull.. Were making process. There will be a woman on this adventure so am curious to see if any of the bathrooms had water and
flush function. Are the proprietors accomodating, and what'd they charge you to camp on the beach. HOPE the inshore /onshore fishing is still good
enough for evening tablefare. We usually always camp the beach there, but have not been back in 15 years.

Hombe, The fish camp on the bay at the north end of the runway did not get hit hard by the storm. I did not stay there, but met the proprietor, who
speaks fluent English. He told me that he had a few camp sites available. I was able to get ice from him to recharge my ice chest, and water is
available.
There are shower facilities also, and I know that they provide food and lodging for fishing clients. I don't know if they would cater to campers as
well.
I intend to set up a camp there, and do some exploring around the area with an unloaded vehicle. The timing sounds like we might run into each other
there.
Edit; Remember, that was last October. Also, at that time, the restaurant on the beach was open, but mine was the only vehicle there, other than
locals.

Camped a few days there in the early 1980's... far end of the beach from the resort:
SUBARU 4WD WAGON, 13" tires deflated to 10 psi... a super sand bug it was!

Before graders came in the 1980's, one steep grade called Cuesta de la Ley would make 4WD appreciated...

Baja 1000
The course has not been posted yet, but my guess is that you will be sharing the road south of BOLA with pre-runners, and support vehicles.
I don't see that as a problem, in fact, it is nice to have a little hope of assistance if you need it.
Plan on having enough fuel to get in there, and back out. It might be available, but I would not bet that way.
Edit; Nice photo David, a little of that kind of road is fun, but not for a main route that far.

I believe the Baja 1000 is a loop this year. I would be somewhat surprised if they were south of BOLA.

La Cuesta has now been paved! I heard it was to help out the fishermen down at El Barril...

When I was there last year, they were grading the last ten miles or so into El Barril, but I sure never expected pavement! Is that all the way to El
Arco, or just from the turn off headed north to BOLA?

I capitalized Baja, to give it more respect.
There was no good or bad with "there goes"... it is simply 'there goes the difficult days of rough roads and here comes the prosperity of paved
highways'.
Spinning again Ralph?
