Tecate import limits
I was wondering if the Mexican border inspectors at the Tecate crossing are still checking for meat limits and bans. A few months ago it was reported
that they were. I was wondering if that was just one time thing and now they just are no longer bothering.

They do what they want...when they want. Never count on other's experiences at the border. Just go by the rules, or take your chances.

They worked out on us there a couple of weeks ago pretty good. Had to pay 2400 pesos duty on items. I believe meat is on the prohibited list.

I believe you are limited to 3kg of cheese. I don't know about the wine.

IMHO, J.P.
When crossing the Mexican borders, pretend those Mexican border inspectors are not there. I.E. have a conversation with your partner while crossing,
and NEVER make eye contact with them, because they assume that by your looking at them you are guilty of something.
The only times I have ever been pulled over is when I got a red light, or sometimes when I drive the FJ Cruiser even with a green light.

Evil eyes? and ignore? I just follow the rules and buy Mexican. They have moved into the 20th century and have everything.
