Anybody know what the odd-ball fish is?

I believe Chuck is correct. But I have only caught those in fresh water ( Colorado River)

They're sand bass, all but the upper right.. most plentiful in the sea; if you can't catch a sand bass, you can't catch a cold. Very good eating,
but if you get a 2 lb-er it's a big-un.

The odd ball is a wavy line grunt.

Note the eye on the spotted bass is in line where the lower jaw ends vs the Cabrilla's eye is well forward of the lower jaw end.
Also note the belly on the SBB is more white than the Cabrilla.
And the tail fin on the SBB is rounded, whereas the Cabrilla is more forked.

COCHIMI CUCH-CUCHI CABRLLA
....... Just another fuggin' sand bass.

Well I`m still going with SBB. Caught my share of both. The Cabrilla always looked like a giant Crappie to me. The SBB, more elongated. Judging by the
size (14" mas o menos), if these are Leopard Grouper, they sure are small.
If caught in serious structure (big rocks) these are grouper. If caught in sand/rock smooth bottom, and shallow, SBB.

I see very small Leopard Grouper and a grunt...but so many names are so confusing as to fish terms.
As we have all caught a "Cabrilla" in Baja...but that could be SO many things!!!
