2015 SEMA: TRD Pro Land Cruiser concept vehicle
This is an SUV with real Baja possibilities. A Toyota-sourced snorkel kit and full skidplates underneath. In South America, I saw Toyota's with OEM
snorkel kits on the streets of Barranquilla, Colombia on a daily basis. A real upgrade that could provide better performance in dusty, desert
environments as well as select trails in Baja where swamps can stop a vehicle cold.
Here is the TRD Pro Land Cruiser

Government regulations, many spurred by union labor demands and environmental wackos keep out most of the vehicles enjoyed by the rest of the world!
Go to Europe and see so many vehicles never sold in the U.S.. Highways in Europe that have no speed limit are an example of more freedom than found
here... Nevada and Montana (I recall) once had no speed limits?
Word is the Toyota Hilux would outsell the Tacoma by hard core off roaders, if it could be bought here.

I think it Government (NHTSA) regulations have more to do with this than evil union labor demands, David. The SEMA SAN group focuses on keeping
products available in the aftermarket street-legal and smog-compliant.
How about limiting new legislative requirements on ROV's link

I'm sure that has something to do with snorkels and skid plates, but I haven't figured it out, yet.

Land cruisers are marketed as "Prados" in Central America, and can be bought with turbo diesel motors.

The Prada of Toyota is not sold here under that name but is what Lexus sells here as the GX.
The Land Cruiser is bigger than a Prada, and is sold here, also sold as a Lexus LX.
Have a look and compare...

fOREIGN CARS
There is a great number of cars that are made in Mexico and other nations that Fly the American Logo and are not importable to the U. S. most look
just like the U.S. version but on closer look they do not have the safety devices that are required in the U.S.
We were camped out in our motorhome down around Mulege when this couple pulled in beside us in a New right hand drive turbo diesel F.J. that was one
sweet ride and Toyota isn't even on my list of something I would own.
