Baja 1000 Start Delayed for 4 wheelers

The start for the 4 wheel vehicles will be delayed to 11am or later depending on the parade for the Mexican Revolution that starts at 9am.

Good news for the bikes and quads! That will give them a little more breathing room....

A few years ago, my wife and I drove up the penninsula on November 20 Mexican Revolution Parade - EVERY town was holding a parade. I remember getting thru ENS was a lot of work.

That said, it makes sense that SCORE just figured this out - it's not like November 20 Mexican Revolution Parade happens every year or anything.

Surprised that in Ensenada, (or anywhere in Baja) Baja 1000 day doesn't 'trump' a patriotic parade!?? LOL

Maybe Roger Norman should get a Mexican calendar so he can avoid their holidays better?

Along the coast, silt starts around RM420 with a one-mile-long single-lane silt bed at RM435+. I've heard that a 6' deep, 10-20' wide rain rut parallels the course to the left (for the entire mile) - the rut is a day-ender.

Nomad Tunaeater is on bike 13X and dtbushpilot's son is on a pro limited bike but I don't have the number. SCORE didn't have the entry list posted a few minutes ago when I looked.

I will be looking for him Geoff and hopefully take a few photos if it's not nighttime. I'll be down by Blanco (race mile 430ish?) in a gray tundra and will be there in case help is needed.

Watch those silt beds!

Jon

DK: I will post detailed maps when I get back, just kidding. :)
