Looking forward to seeing the 1000 tomorrow afternoon - as remote as we were at the race, it will be fun to see what actually went on at other places
than RM4435.
Mountain biking on Sedona slick rock today (while trying to avoid tourists)!!
Being that the 27th is my 6th wedding anniversary, watching will be a stretch. I'll talk Leidys into watching with me!

Happy Anniversary to you both!
I guess when you camped with us in July 2010, you were newlyweds?
When we camped with you and Baja Angel we were married 1 1/2 yrs, and more importantly, had the resident visa to finally travel outside of the U.S.
Colombia recently voided all of their citizen's passports, requiring them to get updated passports - no travels until the backlog eases. No Baja
until 2016...
Cox San Diego also lists it as the 500. I recorded just in case.
No doubt it is the 1000 because there still hasn't been a 47th Baja 500, as they called it in the listing. The 500 is a couple of years younger than
the 1000 (although in 1974 there was no 1000, but there was a 500 and an 'Internacional'. Another point, the Baja 1000 began in 1973, not 1967 which
was the year of the first Mexican 1000.
Here is the short video I took (I was 16) at the first Baja 1000:
Next year the 2016 will be the 49th (a loop race) and the 2017 Baja 1000 will be the 50th and word is Norman is planning a very long race like the
2000 was. Also the new Dust to Glory type movie with scenes from the 2016 season will be released as part of the 50th anniversary.
Yea this could be one of the better Supercross seasons if all are healthy. Some fast new guys and some fast older guys and we may see a girl racing in
the 250 class.

See the way the "500" is listed. I think 47th would be correct? There was no 1000 (by any name) in 1974, so in 2017 it will be the 49th running of the
race, 50 years after the first one.
I do see Roger Norman is indeed going to call it the 50th.
I think this was the first time 2 hours for a Baja race report on TV?
I am sure glad I DVR'd it and began watching when it was almost over (live)... and could zip through the 30 minutes of commercials!
I think it was a good show, covered many racers from start to finish including the motorcycles. Again, not all the classes were covered but did see
Trophy Truck, Trophy Truc Spec, Class 1, Class 10, and UTV Class 19 as they progressed around Baja. Time during the show was included talking about
Cameron and Heidi Steele, as Cameron was a co-host beside his racing. He sure looked beat when he took the microphone after finishing the race.
Did anyone else notice how it was shown as the 47th Baja 1000 at the beginning and then described as the 48th at the end? Perhaps it is all in my
head? LOL
DK no doubt RN and even Sal played with the term running verses anniversary. In adding up the years it did run then the 2017 Baja 1000 will be the
50th running of the race and the 50th anniversary of the first race.
1967-1973=7 No 1974 race.
1975-1984=10
1985-1994=10
1995-2004=10
2005-2014=10
