Surgery needed for hernia

Hi Nomads,
I need some help. A friend of mine found out he needs a hernia surgery. I'm wondering (1) if anyone knows of a very good doctor who has clean facilities and hopefully speaks English does these for foreigners in Baja. Also (2) asking for advice from anyone who has had this or other surgeries in Baja. I don't have any experience with this. Prefer La Paz to Tijuana. And (3) I guess I should also ask if anyone has had to have surgery and chose not to have it in Baja, where you went for your surgery. Advice welcomed! Thanks in advance!

La Paz to TJ...that's a 1000 mile range!

Your best options are in La Paz, SJDC, Ensenada or TJ.

Send a U2 to EnsenadaDr here on Nomads.

La Paz has good services and low prices - most doctors speak English (heck, many of them studied in the US)
Cabo has good services but American prices ($3,000 for an MRI)

even better, catch a cheap flight to Guadalajara and get super service and enjoy lower prices than La Paz.
