San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) and ATM's

Hey Nomads,

Heading down with newbies in 2 weeks and they have SDCCU ATM cards. Anyone use San Diego County Credit Union ATM cards in Baja? Any problems?

Thanks,

MFCU requires me to let them know in advance. Once I do that the pesos come flying out of the machine!

I'm with an OC credit union. You just got to let them know when you are going down and when you plan to be back. Can be done over the phone.

Generally 6k pesos is my daily limit, but some credit unions will allow you to go up to 10k, I've heard.

Try and use ATMs at banks in case of a card swallowing. Another advantage is that if the machine spits out a bunch of 500 peso notes, you can usually go inside and change them at the window. 500 peso notes can be difficult to use in more remote areas.

I use SDCCU, you can fill in your online profile that you will be travelling to MX. I have no problems using my ATM throughout Baja.
