Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point)

Playa Bonita resort and next door, Playa Bonita RV park.

BTW...the entire municipality gas been turned into a Puert Vallarta. If you like fresh oysters, don't forget to take the main road south of town and stop at the oyster lagoons where they will fetch and serve fresh oysters and beer.
The El Faro restaurant at the south end of the malecon, has the best flan I have ever eaten in all of Mexico.

Thanks

Last year we rented a 2 BR condo at the Mayan Palace all inclusive resort at Puerto Penasco through Resort Condominiums International. Price was $500 US for 10 nights and they gave us a $500 cash voucher to spend on things that that weren't part of the all inclusive package (like massages) and we didn't have to sit through a time share lecture either..

Udo - Thanks for the food tips, always appreciated!!

I realize that. Mayan Palace is about 1/2 hour drive from downtown and 3 days is not same as 10 days. BTW if you're looking for the Walmart downtown it is next to Sam's club but signed as "Bodega Aurrera" same as store in Maneadero.

3 night window?
It will take you most of the day each way. That only leaves one day to meet and eat!

Food tip; La Curva Restaurant used to be a must. Wonderful Chile Verde.... has a lime zest to it. Used to be always packed.

My last trip from Ensenada to PP via Tecate/Rumorosa to San Luis and onto PP via the (brand new) toll road only took 5.5 hours. but with the 1 hour time difference it was 6.5 on the clock.

Because you posted irrelevant, unwanted information regarding my request. If you want to extol the virtues of San Carlos start your own thread

Only trouble with new toll road is that few people use it because of cost (around $5 US as i recall). Never passed or was passed by any north bound vehicle and only saw one southbound bus. Unfortunately my serpantine belt broke on that near deserted road about 10 miles before reaching San Luis but was able to limp in without overheating.

I find it interesting that Grupo Vidanta(Mayan Palace) doubled down here and built two separate resorts.

There has always been a problem with airline access. And seriously, anyone from California faces a really long drive.

Grupo Vidanta has a resident Cirque De Soleil company at there Maya Riviera resorts in a dedicated theater. Go figure.

I spent a week in Puerto Penasco fifteen years ago, from what I am reading hear it sounds like I wouldn't recognize it now.

You definitely would not recognize the place, AK.

I got transformed into a Puert Vallarta for the Zonies.
