I know the insurance laws. I am inquiring who pays how much money for a yearly policy for Mexican car insurance. What coverage do you old timers have?
I just got quoted $300 per year (Land Rover) for a full coverage. Seem right? If not. I could use a lead on a company.

I dont know about "oldtimer" rates but I paid AIG Ins. $330 for my new truck(Dodge) for a year in San Ysidro. FULL coverage and road service included. This was last April.

Well, I have an old truck, paid for and what-not, so I don't purchase full coverage anymore. I get the liability policy for $100/year.

YOUR QUOT OF 300 DOLLAR DOESN'T SOUND TO BAD. BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE VALUE OF YOUR CAR. THERE ARE SOME NOMADS THAT WRITE POLICIES AND ARE RELIABLE.

Speaking of avatars,

Jesse and Yankeeirishman,

How do you attach the static pictures that seem more stable than the animated avatars?

Do you consider them better/more reliable?

Thanks in advance.

I called AAA where we have our vehicles insured - full coverage. They told me that I am covered anywhere in Mexico except for liability. So, now we only purchase annual Mexican liabiltiy insurance. And as I understand it, you can insure the driver so then you are covered with any vehicle that you drive down with full covers through AAA.

Call your insurance company and find out about your coverage. You might be surprised like we were. No use double insuring your vehicle against damage and theft.
