Looking for Guide/Panguero Recco: Mulege, Isla San Marcos, or Rosalia
Hey There. First timer here looking for some local fish dope for my trip starting next Mon heading back up the Baja from Todos Santos. I called a
local fishing buddy in SD and he strongly suggested I try out this board as he said folks are usually happy to help out a newbie.
I'm looking to fish on Tue, 3/15 or Wed 3/16 as I head up. Tons of flexibility, and if worse comes to worse, I'll likely fish out of San Quintin, but
I'd really like to try a new area should weather/fish conditions permit, and save my money as SQ is getting ridiculously expensive.
Any help with a name/number/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, fellas.
Aaron

If you're looking for the best then call:
In Mulege: Alex Bukovecz, he has won first place on several tournaments over the past couple of years, speaks english and is really nice company, his
cell number is 011-521-615-104-3979 if dialing from US, if dialing in Mexico dial without 011-521, you may need to dial 001 if using a US phone, he
also stocks fresh scallops, shrimp and lobster during season:
Also you may try Roman Murillo, just past the speed bump after the bridge on your way south from Mulege: 011-25-615-104-6584 use same suggestions when
dialing.

Welcome to Nomad Aaron!
I am thinking Pescador might know as he lives in that region.. but other Nomads are too... Just hope they see this question soon enough for you. The
small town of San Bruno may be a place to seek a guide?

Also an excellent guide in San Lucas pueblito named Fransisco.... don't have last name or phone, but drive the main asphalt street into the town and
about 4 or 5 streets in on the far right corner you'll see his 'boat-yard' with several boats and mechanic spot set up. Not only the best in the area
for fishing guide, but excellent mechanic too, both boats and vehicles. Speaks fluent English.
Rip some lips for me too, expect a fishing report when you do!

I recall that there were recent posts here about a much-liked panguero in Mulege by the name of Marco (?) who had recently returned from La Paz, but
now I cannot find the posts.

I fished alongside Mateo out of Mulege 14 years ago and he is a good fisherman.

Funny though. Mateo is my neighbor and Alex goes motorcycle riding with us in the mountains. The one that doesn't get the business will whack me over
the head for sure!

In San Bruno, the best guide by far is Rigo Ojeda who is the most knowledgeable and competent guide in the area. If you want to fish out of Mulege
then go with Alejandro as he knows that area better, but San Marcos, Tortuga, Santa Rosalia area is hands down to Rigo Ojeda. His cell is
615-104-9850. He also has a fully stocked tackle shop and builds custom rods.

I personally know Alex, Bucko. very well, for many years, for all good reasons he is the best. If you talk to him tell him that Pablo recommended him.
