Nobody is judging (right this moment) but that can change in the blink of an eye!

Too big for the seiners. These fish won't be around long as there's not much here for them to eat. The yellowfin made a showing yesterday at the 182
spot - nice fish 40-60 lbs.
On the vegan thing - I cringe every time I drive by a farm during harvest season - the screams as the poor plants are being slashed/uprooted
is almost more than I can bear!

1988 a small group of seiners were having a field day wrapping bluefin to 900 lbs with the average fish at 300lbs.

You are absolutely correct - this is not what they're after these days though. The market BFT is around 60-80 lbs. The ones the Mexicans are after
for the pens are 20-30 lbs. Right now off our coast there's 2 schools of BFT - 60 -80 lb & the big ones up to 250 (so far)

Quite a few are being taken on high end spinning tackle designed for the job - most are tossing large poppers such as the one in Woody's pic. Here's
a link to Shimano Stellas....the least expensive is over $1K..
