Best place to get FMM/ Mex fishing License.
Hi guys and gals,
Its been a while since I have been south to Baja. Heading to San Quintin and need best directions to toll road with new crossing. Also, where to get
an FMM and license.

Assuming you're crossing into TJ from San Diego, I would
get Mex license in SD at a tackle store, Squidco which is off
the 5 near Rosecrans, there are others, Fishermans
Landing Point Loma, the fmm is available at the
vehicle crossing into TJ at Mex Imm, both are available online,
but I see no convenience in that

I got it all on line, if you go to the web site BDOutdoors.com there are instructions on line for both license and FMM, just click and print.
On the other hand Squidco is a great place to stop if you need some tackle.
As to directions to the toll road, cross at SY and follow the large orange detour signs, the route is very plainly marked. Stay to the left at the Y
after the border go over the little bridge and make the first right.
Lots of guys getting big tuna right now just south of Pt. Loma (MX waters) and 30-40 miles out, good luck.

Hola pascuale,
i've fished san quintin many times with an outfitter. in the past, i did the fishing license thing over the internet. very easy if you have the time.
this time. i'm fishing with garcia's pangas on june 11 & 12 and they have licenses. i don't know if they make a profit on them but they should. i
understand licenses are a hassle for outfitters.
if you're taking your own boat, i don't know if they sell to non-customers. go to bloodydecks.com for more info if you're taking your own boat. need
passport for everybody, fmm and license for everybody on the boat fishing or not.

a gringo named Gene. Fishing with Juan Cook and staying at Jardines.

just called the outfitters connection in the U.S. today and he told me the outfitter does NOT have licenses.
damn ! leaving los angeles friday.
called savons and i was told they don't sell dailies, only weekly and annual. no choice, $ 30.00 for the weekly for each of the three of us.
may call the mexican consulate in los angeles, the consulate in san diego at conapesca sells them.
that's what i get for waiting until the last moment.

Thanks David! Heard he lives in the states now. He is a great guy. I was 20 in 2002 and that is when I fished with him a few times. I actually met you
at the Wet Buzzard I think back around that time. Rat, i called Conapesca and they are open until 2pm mon-fri. They have all licenses.

Whenever you get a chance to buy your license from a local outfitter, be aware that the money stays in the local area. I know the easy and lazy way
to do it is to buy online or a travel club. Some of the Travel clubs get theirs from Tijuana / Ensenada, others come from Mexico City. The local
PESCA guys are trying their best with enforcement, and education but when they get no funding, then their efforts are for nothing.
You are right, it is a hassle for a local outfitter to get hooked up to sell licenses and they only make a pittance for doing that. They prepay for
say 20 licenses and then have a credit for issue, and then renew, in bulk, when they run out.
In Baja California Sur, the best place to do licenses is http://www.bajasportfishing.com and since the office is in La Paz, the money stays in Baja Sur instead of going to Tijuana, Ensenada, or Mexico
City.

As for the FMM, I just stop at the border and get it.
