Where is Frank and Igor?
Has anyone seen or heard anything on two of my favorite nomads?

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.
I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

are just offshore. One more coat of epoxy fairing compound, a quick sand and some topside paint and I'm ready to splash the big boat!

I know the feeling of missing that first year, it was atleast 12 or 13 years before missing that first one after 64....... I was in rehab for 2 weeks after suffering withdraws

Rob, your story of the krill in LA Bay has always resonated with me. To this day I think about what it must have been like and I dream about it!!!
This picture is my homage to your story. They weren't krill, but 1/8" fish. At the time I was thinking of you buddy! Early June 2016 at the Bay of LA!

Rob,
I live in baja 1/2 of the year and in Oregon the other half these days.
I post mostly pictures on Talk Baja these days because they get more views and comments. Fishing is taking a back seat to photography these days as
I'm no longer as fit as I used to be. So there are fewer stories to tell. The irony is that I spend more time in baja but write less about it. I
suppose that's because you don't try to cram everything into 2-4 weeks.
Screaming reels and leaping fish mean less now than the serenity of the landscape. Everything is much slower down there and slow is good. Most of my
neighbors hate facing the traffic and queues up north, preferring to make as few trips as possible.

I hate the gradual slow down of old age I wish we could roar right up to check out day and do away with all these aches and pains.

As a friend of Ron Hoff, and not a Facebook member, I have always wondered why he decided to limit access to Talkbaja by putting it on Facebook.
Nearly 1/2 of the American people are not on Facebook.

It's hard to improve on the technology of Facebook. Also, Ron does a great job of moderating that website so that contentious 'discussions' are
curtailed before they get out of hand.
The site also is attractive to the Mexicans of Baja which makes it richer in content. I'm not sure why the locals never quite took to nomads very
much. Even though I don't understand what they write most of the time, the language of pictures is universal and we always can communicate with a good
image. They love their land as much as we do and can appreciate when someone understands it's beauty.

Putting Talk Baja on Facebook was the best decision of all time for TB. It's a very helpful and diverse site.

It's not a question of how many people can potentially use Facebook. It's a question of how many will see your post. When one person likes a post all
of their friends are notified. If every person has 100 friends that's 500 notifications for 5 likes. A notification is almost like a new post by you
because it tells them you have added something noteworthy. They seek you out rather than you seek them out. It's hard to compete with something like
that with just a bulletin board.
Furthermore, virtually all of TB posts are centered around a post of an image with accompanying writing. Posts that are just the written word get much
less attention on TB. Nomad posts are generally verbiage which requires more investment in time in order to understand if the post is of interest. I
suspect many don't want to put in that time.
