Our friends James and Sean recently took on a sizable challenge....cycling coast to coast from Cuatro Casas to San Felipe in three days. It sounds
fairly reasonable until you know the route:
Day 1 - Cuatro Casas to the to San Pedro de Martir Observatory, then back down to Rancho Meling
Day 2 - Rancho Meling to Mike's Sky Ranch via Rancho Coyote
Day 3 - Mike's Sky Ranch road to Highway 3, then pavement to the top of Laguna Diablo and down the lakebed through Morelia Junction to San Felipe.
My son is an avid bicycle adventure junkie, he has even ridden on glaciers! I have a standing offer to drive a support vehicle for him and his
friends if they ever decide to have a go at Baja.
I will send this to him right now, thanks for posting this!

This old couch potato loves this stuff!! Great ride and vid!
I remember going up that mountain in my van and it barely made it!!
At least I can relate to fish tacos and beer though!!!

Is it really a BIG adventure when you have vehicles following you?
Yes. Yes it is.
The main reason I would like to offer some vehicle support, is to keep my son off of Highway 1, and parts of 3. Some of the trails possible for him,
would probably involve me meeting him at the other end. That still leaves plenty of challenge!

The Baja ride will certainly be a major undertaking. With more and more areas being fenced off and gates locked they may have to ride more pavement
than expected. I do wish them good luck, it will be an adventure.
