Tecate border wait time

Its been a while for me--I'm planning on spending a couple nights in Ensenada and coming back this Saturday through Tecate. Can anyone give me an idea of the wait time I might expect around noon on a Saturday?

Tecate is always a crap shoot. I have spent hours waiting and i have spent minutes. Good luck.

Saturday and Sunday during the summer can be a 1-2 hour wait to cross at Tecate. Difficult to predict at 12 noon. It might be shorter.

Me three... 5 hours once, 3 hours another time, then lot's of 45 min. waits and sometimes no wait at all to speak of. It was 18 minutes a week ago for us, late afternoon Monday.

A couple of hours earlier may [just may] make a large difference although if it isn't a holiday or event weekend, noon wouldn't keep me away.
I say....go for it around noon.

By the way...Saturday isn't a cross-border work day, so traffic is lessened.

I crossed at Tecate for years before I got my sentri pass. I found that Tue, wed, and Thu were usually not too bad for wait times but Fri, sat, Su, Mo were usually bad. Your mileage may vary.

My experience has been... this site is the worst. The government isn't into customer service , and giving the factions whom they traditionally strive to curtail, any type of assistance, is not really their operating plan.
Anyway...who checks websites when they're already on the road? Border traffic conditions change quickly.

Doesn't seem the border wait time sites are worth much re:
accuracy, the other 1, traffic.calit2, or close to that, does have
a user reported time. I add 45 min to all the reported times. I was asked
recently walking back at TJ, how long was the wait by CBP, so
I assume some effort is made

When I crossed at Tecate (with a trailer), I usually cross before 9 a.m. and my wait has been about 15-20 minutes.

My wait times have been between 0 min. and 2 hours.

Before 7:00 AM on weekdays, Tecate opens all four lanes to passenger car traffic....the two regular lanes as well as the two truck lanes.
Not sure about weekends.

Monday morning, there is a flood of northbound work traffic. lots of NOB workers live in Tecate and spend their weekends at home, then it's back to the grind till Friday evening.

This delay, which has not produced any significant terrorist interventions is why we stopped visiting Ensenada twice a month for our weekends.

Of course, we still go through this ridiculous process when we go down on longer trips to see the whales or to stay in Cabo.

But can anyone tell me what this insane border patrol thing has accomplished?
