Labor Day 2016?

Can anyone please comment on how busy Baja will be that weekend? Is that traditionally an exceptionally active time?
I am trying to plan a trip.
My typical whirlwind weekend.
I will fly down from Seatac to San Diego. Have a meeting. Do some paperwork and head south to my fishcamp in San Quintin. I will rent a car at the airport.
Traffic? Border crossing.
Tentatively fly in on 9-2 Friday and out on 9-5 but could adjust a little.
Thank in advance to all wise and kind Nomads

Any chance of a Tuesday return flight? If so, I'd recommend that.

Sunday crossings are always difficult, and a Monday holiday will make both days more challenging.

(disclaimer: I use SENTRI, so I've observed long waits, but have no direct experience in the long lines.)

That does make more sence. I think I will adjust in that direction. Thanks.

The border crossing north is a total buzz kill. But atleast I am flying out of San Diego so no ridiculous traffic back to Orange County anymore. That was like double buzz kill.
So yeah Tuesday it is.
My Baja brain is atrophying here in WA.

Sunday regular crossings and Monday holiday crossings ruin Baja weekends for my visitors.

Great news was only 20 minutes in SENTRI this Sunday, 25 July. But, traffic in San Diego and Orange County were nuts.

Love my SD and OC friends, but, Baja is so much better in all ways.

Can Sentri be used with a rental car?

I thought I remembered that. It goes with a specific vehicle or something like that.
