TRAILER BOAT TO BAJA

I have a friend who wants to trailer his small fishing boat for a weekend in Ensenada. What paperwork does he need?

Regarding the "TIP", i was asked by Aduana for my TIP (south bound TJ) for the first time ever last week.
I responded that in Baja it was not necessary. I do have a TIP, but was checking to see what the response would be. He said nothing, and just checked registrations before sending me to the xray.
Just some info, i realize that reactions from officials may vary.

A TIP is only $50 for 10 years.... I would highly suggest having one in your arsenal of documents. You never know when you will be asked, trust me on this one

How would one get a TIP?
Can that be done while crossing, or on line?

The online registration sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn't.

Here is a google search of Banjercito locations in TJ. I've gotten an import permit for my truck/dirt bikes at the B location before. You need one if taking ATVs/dirt bikes into mainland Mexico (not Baja).

The other thing you want is Mexican insurance for on the water and when trailing. Baja Bound can help you out for full coverage insurance when trailering (just an add on to your vehicle), not sure about on the water (liability I think, but not full coverage, if you have Progressive they should cover the rest).
