Hahaha......sorry.

Try and get into the far right lanes approaching the border, and after you cross. If you can, get into the 1st or 2nd right lane going through the Mexican Customs booths. After you clear customs, stay to the right and follow the signs to Rosarito/Cuota (Toll Road). It will be the first right ramp after you pass through Customs.

You can get your FMM's either before or after you pass through Customs

Is the "change' reference to the road work in TJ? That was a mess for a while.

Not to hijack, but is the main thoroughfare construction finished in Tecate? Is it back to "normal"?

We came home last month via Hwy. 3 to Tecate from Ensenada, and it was easy and don't recall any detours on the 3.

Only one was about a mile long between Santo Tomás and San Vicente is all, on Hwy. 1.

Tecate crossing is back to normal again...no detours. Only about 1500' of construction just before reaching La Ceto winery, while they straighten the curved road and put in three bridges to facilitate access to the Valle De Guadalupe.

Because traffic is so bad at San Ysidro, I have a lot of friends who report bottlenecking at Tecate. As usual, it depends on when you cross.

Coming south into San Ysidro is good except for Friday evening.

they never did close the centro ramp onto international so as long as you don't head to the airport, you got two chances at getting it right!

Hola Dennis,

" Is the "change' reference to the road work in TJ? That was a mess for a while. "

the change reference was: we crossed into mex in june, got our visas, and proceeded to the toll road going out of la migra and going to the right afterwards and towards the toll road.

i'm not aware of any other road work.

The photos are exactly as it was a week ago.

As you exit the inspection area, you will clearly see the overhead signs directing you to stay to the rightmost couple of lanes - for Cuota - to Ensenada

No confusion and no construction last week.

Croosed southbound at San ysidro yesterday afternnon and decided to make a "quick" stop at Duty free at last US exit. Got at end of line coming out of duty free at McDonalds driveway around 4 PMand didn't clear Mexican Customs until 5:30. Never do that again on a Friday afternoon.

Fridays are the worst but southbound every weekday at the afternoon rush hour (3:30 to 6:30 or so) is pretty bad.
