Rosarito Beach Desert Challenge

I've embedded the map of the Rosarito Beach Desert Challenge into Google Maps. The data for this map was NOT provided by SCORE - it is hand-built. Once they release the GPS files, I will swap this one for the SCORE version.

Thank you, I was curious what they had in mind.
Puerto Nuevo more than Rosarito, and what desert?
Well, it is probably better than the Imperial Valley 250, with that real desert heat and U.S. insurance expense! More money for Baja!

Similar to many local races through out Baja. I would be that this race gets a big turnout of spectators.

It's a SCORE race... 2 and 4 wheeled vehicles, off road racing. SCORE has 4 races a year in BAJA. The Baja 1000, Baja 500, and San Felipe 250 being the other three.

Interesting format! I had to do some digging to find details, but this race is different than other score events I have been aware of.

If I read it right, this one is two laps on a 32.5 mile course, and they start in pairs instead of one at a time. Head to head racing right out of the gate!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

I know of teams which will not be attending the Rosarito race due to its format. We're two weeks out and there's only ~50 racers registered - is this a sign of things to come? Will SCORE use this venue in 2017? Admittedly, I'm skeptical.

Roger Norman is grasping at straws thinking Trophy Trucks alone will keep SCORE alive... NOT!

When it was a family sport, where small businesses could sponsor a buggy or truck and have fun, with just a few primadonnas like Parnelli Jones and Mickey Thompson to get the media attention and crowd support, then it had broader appeal to everyone. The motorcycle classes, a big part of Off Road Racing, are just a problem for Roger, it seems?

I hope to see atleast 150 entries or more, its a great course very technical and rocky (summit + mikes sky ranch style) that will put the racers in a different race strategy, better than any desert loop course in the US.

Part of the course was race in the 1996 Baja 500, the ranchos are very open to off road riding and racing, theres a lot of them that sell you food and beverages.

The race is listed in the 2017 schedule and I hope they continue to use this venue, maybe a Baja 1000 for Rosarito in 2018?

I think the format for this race is somewhat similar to the one SCORE did in Laughlin, NV until it ended.
