Tourist visa at Mexicali or Tecate
We usually cross at Tijuana southbound, but this year we may go via Calexico or Tecate. Where do we stop for our 180 day visa in either of those
places? Thanks.

At the Mexicali main crossing it is on the far left side.
At Tecate it is on the right side at the crossing. Go thru and circle around to the right at the first light coming back to the office area. A man
will let you park on the left side so you can walk across the street then up and back across to the office. The bank is outside the office entry just
before you go up the steps. I tip the guy a couple of bucks when I leave.

Park as soon as you possibly can after entering Mexico (red/green light), and go into building or door signed INM.

Tecate INM directions
For Tecate - Proceed through Aduana (Customs) to the first stoplight. Make a right turn at the stoplight. At the first intersection after the
stoplight, make a right turn. proceed about a 1/2 block. There will be an alley on your right. Turn right into the alley which will lead to a parking
area for Aduana and Immigration (INM). Usually an attendant will be there and move cones for you to park. Visit INM, get your FMM (pay at INM or the
bank), return to your vehicle, tip the attendant and after you leave the parking lot, make a right turn.

All good as to what BajaGuy said. You then cross the street parallel to the border and go back towards U.S. in the turnstiles...up a bit and then
cross back over to the left to the immigration office. Once done, it is a straight shot back to your car on the same side.

Calexico west entrance/ Main entrance INM office: as soon as you cross the border the building is on the left. There usually is some parking just
past the INM on your left, park and walk back to the INM office.
They will also take payment for the tourist permit needed for stays over 7 days this is where I always get mine. We live in Arizona and go down
through Mexicali to San Felipe and on past Gonzaga when we are heading down to Baja Sur I have gone through Tecate many times in the past and also San
Yesidro we Like Calexico the best
