Gas Stops
I'm sure this info is on here somewhere, but I can't find it. We're driving to Todos Santos in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering what the current
gas station situation is. In the past. the longest stretch without gas was usually El Rosario to just north of Guererro Negro. Is the station in
Catavina open these days? In all my trips down, I have found it open twice, otherwise it was gas from a barrel in Catavina. We are driving our
Toyota based RV, which has a short driving range between fill ups. I'm sure we'll carry some gas, the question is whether we're sure to need it. All
info on the condition of 1 is appreciated. I drove TS north to Mulege in November and am familiar with the work being done near Constitucion. Thanks
all...looking forward to getting out of the snow!

No Pemex station open in Catavina. Gas from barrels there.

For what it is worth, I drove north from La Paz on Dec 20, and there are still some significant detours, but a lot of new pavement had been opened up
in the three weeks since I drove south!

You will be amazed the number of new Pemex stations opened up and down the entire Hwy 1 corridor........ EXCEPT between El Rosario and Jesus Maria (12
miles north of Guerrero Negro). If your lil' Toy rig won't make it that far, i'd pack a 5 gal. empty bottle, fill it in El Rosario, and use it if you
need it. I wouldn't trust the gas in those old drums in Cataviņa (Catalina is an island) and it'll be an expensive top-off too. Other than that,
smooth sailing compared to 'the good-ol' daze'. And, fill up in Jesus Maria... the Guerrero station is sometimes closed.
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

We have done a lot of moto trips and filled up in Catavina out of the barrels and never a problem. A little pricey but not terrible. That is an option
I would consider.

Fill up in El Rosario. 200+ miles to next Pemex station. Watch out for potholes!

There is gas out of barrels at Catavina and at the LA Bay turn off. Runs about 50-75 cents more per gallon. When you need it you need it. It's no big
deal considering how little you'll buy. What 5 gallons, 10 at most.
