You're one of the lucky ones. Many here have limited service. Seems sites where you have to secure log in won't come up. Like banks and my photo bucket comes up but can't access any photos or up load. Talked to several techs and now they just say they are aware of their problems but after so many hours they aren't giving any estimate on repairs. Still have lots of Gigs left.

unplug the modem for 2 minutes then plug it in again...

you'll get assigned another part of the SAT and it could speed up

I talked to Hugho and the whole system was affected for almost two days. Seems there was an issue with the Alpha signal on upload and the technicians took a couple of days to get it up and running. All of the systems in Santa Rosalia, San Lucas, and San Bruno were having the same problem.

of course exede LIED to hugo ...

the modems needed a firmware or other update...the ONLY way to force a firmware update is to "reboot" the modem...
turn it off then on again...then the upgrade loads

there was an outage sunday afternoon but as soon as we rebooted...all was fine

we have 2 working modems

B&S ,Glad to hear you only had to reboot your system(s) once. I spoke with 4 different techs and they all admitted a failure at their end. The first two ran me thru the prescribed tests that included a long power disconnect of the router and modem and a hard wire connect from the modem to the computer. In the end they said there repair crew had been working on the problem all day Sunday and early Monday. The last two just informed me that the repairs were ongoing and didn't have a guess as to when the repairs would be completed. I don't understand how you know so much more about the system that differs from many of us.

...but they NEVER told you they "throttled your bandwith" so you had to wait in line to receive the new data your modem needed...

they never will...someone would get a group together and sue them

I was lucky...I rebooted fast before they slowed it all down

the trick is make YOU feel like it YOUR fault...YOUR equipment failed...
this is why I have 2 systems...if one goes ...it could be me...but when both go...its them...no excuses

I've lived with SAT internet for 13 years now...
I've talked to ALOT of people all over the USA in the SAT business

its a liars game ...but...they are the ONLY game in town and it's better than nothing

I am glad the reboot worked for you, I had the key to get in to the aim and setup but it did no good on Sunday. So I rebooted numerous times and got nothing out of it. We finally have a system in San Bruno that works off of Infinitum but comes from Santa Rosalia to the tower here in San Bruno and I am getting about 4.5. uploads and Ping are faster than Exede, so I am doing both. You are right that Satellite is a pure pain in the rear. They had talked about a new satellite but that may have been only another rumor. But with Infinitum I can at least watch YouTube without running out of KB's. Bob, do you have two different dishes and modems?

I think I read that the last rocket failure had the Wild Blue sat on it and it would be another 9 months to make and launch it. That's just a vague memory so don't take that to the bank.

the new sat is up
I was in an installers place in san diego last month and talked to him

they have trained all the service people and shipped the equipment to the installers
I guess the equipment/programs are a little different every time

exede here is working just fine right now

Bob, do you have any difference between the two set ups with OOKLA or do they tend to come in about the same. My upload had gone wacko and if I try to send any more than one page of scan it just bounces it back. My last reading was. 6oo ping, 11.19 down and .07 up.

speed test 4-27 9:44am

try plugging in directly to the modem and see if the speed changes...it could be your wireless router slowing you down

we bought a "special" wireless router compatible with the exceed modem

Here's a laugh!

I've been FAP'd! I removed the security on my router when I tried to install my security cameras and forgot to reset it and someone got me good and emptied my time. Renews tomorrow.
